Darlene, 72, felt lonely, even when she had painting for a hobby. But when her osteoarthritis locked up her hands and made it difficult to paint, she didn’t want to be alone any more. Darlene and her neighbor, Willie, 67, became companions through the Senior Companion Program. Two years later, the two ladies remain good friends.
“She went on vacation for three days last week and I just missed her.” Darlene said.
