Ruth Ann, 76, suffers from dementia, Parkinson's disease, scoliosis and cervical dystonia as a result of a car accident in May 2010.
Her scoliosis caused her to stoop over and left her unable to raise her head. Ruth Ann cannot be left alone and needs constant care. Her husband Charles became her primary caretaker after the accident. Taking care of a homebound dependent can be stressful, frustrating and physically and emotionally taxing at times. Charles needed an occasional break to have time for himself.
